Instivate, Inc. is looking for an online advertising sales representative to join our Seattle startup as Employee #4! Our network of Seattle news and neighborhood blogs is a cutting edge leader in the hyperlocal wave. Here are some of the outstanding local sites we power: 

We are seeking a hard charging sales representative to sell advertising across these sites.

You are an excellent self-manager, dedicated to analytical, systematic sales approaches but also extremely comfortable helping local businesses put their messages in front of our growing Seattle audience. You also offer excellent customer service. We're a small team so you're also able to come up with brilliant solutions to challenging problems. 

Requirements: 

  • 2 years advertising sales experience 
  • Experience with face-to-face sales presentations with small and medium sized businesses preferred 
  • Diligent in maintaining CRM data 
  • Excellent phone and in-person speaking skills 
  • Expert knowledge of Seattle local media scene 
  • Enthusiasm for technology and hyperlocal media

I’m looking forward to learning more about the sales opening that you have at CapitolHillSeattle.com, but from what I know so far it appears that my business expertise, selling skills and record of sales success make me an excellent match for this position.

My resume shows my experience and accomplishments in advertising sales over the last 13 years but it does not include what I’ve been doing for the last three months. Since the first of this year I have been at AT&T Advertising Solutions. This has involved making literally hundreds of cold calls per day to local small and medium sized businees owners , setting qualified appointments with a wide variety of business categories and selling them online advertising solutions including directory, SEM, SEO and banner advertising. During this time I have been trained and certified by both Google and Yahoo.display
I spent most of my time at San Jose Mercury News as a Senior Account Manager, where my assignment was to go out and get new business. Here's a sampling of the business I took away from competitors. They are all grocers , drugstores and fast food.

Hi Justin!

The advert part is what I'm struggling with right now. I just don't have the leg power, it seems. We're seeing about 2000 hits/day on good days, 30,000+ hits/month, but we still don't have any $. Still, the site looks AWEsome, and I constantly have peeps telling me how much they love it. So, thanks, and best of luck with finding the right fit for this (great new) positition!
